Alice and the Politics of Wonderland
Digital Illustrations
In this reimagined tea party, Alice finds herself seated among creatures of influence: an elephant bearing the weight of old tropes, serpents tangled in double-speak, and a scale of justice tipping between a rabbit’s urgency and a cat’s calculated cool. I have created a surreal exploration of modern discourse, power dynamics, and the blurry lines between logic and lunacy.
Drawing inspiration from the original absurdity of Lewis Carroll’s world, this series uses symbolism, satire, and storybook charm to reflect on real-world tensions, how we listen, how we argue, and who holds the teacup when the conversation starts to boil.
These aren’t just characters; they’re archetypes of the systems and stories we live in. Through dreamy visuals and playful exaggeration, the work invites viewers to sit at the table, question the setup, and maybe even find a new seat.
